The Free Fall Apparatus can be used to study the speed of an object in free fall. Observing this allows you to investigate gravity. A steel ball is held in place by the solenoid, and the photogates record data on the metal ball as it passes through them in free fall. The apparatus consists of a one-meter long graduated aluminum track with a basket at the bottom to catch the steel ball, and is supported by a triangular metal base with adjustable leveling feet. Includes: • 1 Free fall apparatus • 1 Solenoid, 5V • 2 Photogate • 1 Solid steel physics balls, 19mm (#42036) • 1 Catch basket • 1 Base and support rod
