The Wimhurst Machine is a visual and powerful demonstration used to create static electrical charge and high voltage sparks. The charging discs are made of durable, clear acrylic. The upright supports, Leyden jars, and pulleys are plastic and resistant to breakage. Aluminum sheets are mounted to the sides of the acrylic disc which create the charge when they are circulated past the metal brushes. The apparatus can create sparks up to 2 inches long under proper weather conditions. An instruction guide is included.instructions.
