Find the Paleontologist in your classroom! There are 15 plaster fossil bearing plaster mounds, each mound holds 4 fossils. The kit includes 15 sets of excavation tools, a Fossil Dig Teacher’s Guide, and 15 Fossil Dig Activity Guides for the students. After excavating the fossils, students are encouraged to identify what period their fossils came from by matching them to the Fossil and Geologic Time Charts included. This kit is correlated with the National Science Standards.
This kit is designed to encourage the Paleontologists in your classroom! Students will uncover and identify authentic animal and plant fossils that are up to 500 million years old. After excavating the fossils, students are encouraged to identify what period their fossils came from by matching them to a geologic time chart.
The kit contains 15 plaster fossil bearing mounds and each mound holds 4 fossils, as well as 15 sets of excavation tools and magnifiers.
Also included is a Fossil Card Deck of 50 detailed cards with drawings of fossils printed on both sides, and The Teacher’s Guide to Fossils which is helpful for preparing fossils and answering questions, as well as 15 student reference booklets showing major life-forms and 15 4-color geologic time charts.
The kit is correlated with the National Science Standards and a fun STEAM activity.
