This experiment demonstrates the fact that objects of different masses fall at the same rate in a vacuum. The plastic cylinder has rubber stopper closures on both ends, with one end having a hose connection that is used to evacuate air. When air in the tube is pumped out via a vacuum pump (not included), the coin and feather included with the kit will fall simultaneously because there is nothing causing resistance anymore in the tube.
